Le Chocolat Noir

I have decided in my next life I am going to be a chocolatier. Isn't that a wonderful word? Chocolatier. Chocolate is the perfect example of onomatopoeia. The word sounds rich and sweet and creamy and -- chocolate. I will have a chocolate shop full of the world's best chocolate. I would have dark chocolate covered ginger, and mocha melties, and amaretto and champagne and cognac truffles. I would have dame blanche and crême fraîche and orangettes dipped in dark chocolate. And I would have hazelnut creams and maraschino cherries dipped in milk chocolate, and all sorts of fruit jellies -- apricot, mandarin orange, strawberry, raspberry -- all dipped in dark and milk chocolate.

Can you just imagine?

I am addicted to chocolate, and my favorite is Lindt dark chocolate orange burst. Yes, it is as good as it sounds. I have a co-worker who is even more addicted to chocolate than I am. For Lent every year she gives up chocolate. The other day I saw her eating some chocolate cookies, and I teased her, "You're going to be struck by lightning! Those are chocolate! Haven't you given up chocolate for Lent?"

"These are not chocolate", she said, "These are cocoa."

... Um ... okay

Well, I haven't given up chocolate for Lent, so I am off to have a cup of hot chocolate -- with marshmallows.

My mouth is watering! I'd be your store's number one customer.

Chocolate is my first love-- my dad teases me that it was my first word. There are pictures of me as a child where I have found some secret source of the yummy goodness (on more than one occasion) and have managed to smear it all over my face and mouth in the process of devouring it. And now, any desserts that I make or order are 99% of the time chocolate, the darker the better.

I really want a brownie now. Maybe I have some mix in the pantry...

This reminds me of a wonderful movie, Chocolat. If you haven't seen it, you must. It is the story of a woman and her daughter who open a chocolate shop in a small French village that shakes up the entire town. Great cast, too - Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina, Carrie-Anne Moss, Lena Olin, and Johnny Depp.

I am nuts about chocolate, specially ferrero & Lindt. But all my chocolate has to have nuts in it - be it almonds, hazel nuts, cashew nut, or pea nuts. but nuts are must.

J, you will have to keep lots of nutty chocolate for this friend of yours. you will wont you?

Chocolate? Is that that brown, sometimes white, stuff made from milk and suger that is lank sweet? You get it in all shapes and Easter eggs are made from it as well. Never heard of it.

Oh dear if we weren't hankering for chocolate before we read this post we certainly were afterwards. Yum. Yes hands up, I am also addicted to chocolate. Hard centres though I am not the soft centre type.

Oh yum. Right now, I'm drinking a cup of Bavarian chocolate coffee. I ran out of regular coffee and remembered this package in the freezer. It's almost too rich for the morning... but not. ;)

Sounds like a good job to me.:)
You can make your own truffles and chocolates at home though. I made some for Christmas and they turned out really well.:)

I hope that you will remember your humble, poor and chocolate crazed blogging friends when you return as a chocolatier.

Geez, I have never been a chocoholic, I can take it or leave it. I don't care for milk chocolate at all, but I do like dark chocolate...and it is good for you! But now that I have read this, I really want the Lindt orange chocolate! So much so that as hubby left to pick up supplies for the park I added it to my list! Now look what you made me do!

Oh My Favorite Subject/Food/Treat!!! I have chocolate every day. I think it as necessary as air (ok, so I'm a little dramatic!) I love all kinds of chocolate but my favorite remains the Hershey Bar. The ingredients have stayed the same since it's creation over a 100 years ago. It is delicious. Favorite chocolate combo is of course Somores. I remember growing up on Cape Cod and making somores on our beach. Very easy to make. Just need Graham Crackers/Hershey Bars and Marshmallows. You can toast the marshmallow inside if you have a gas stove or fireplace. It goes like this.. 1/2 graham cracker/1/2 hershey bar/toasted marshmallow/remaining 1/2 hershey/remaining 1/2 graham cracker. Squish together and EAT!! You may want to make these outside because the sugar rush can cause temporary bursts of energy, elation, spasticity (LOL).

I want to be the first person in your store! I LOVE CHOCOLATE! I love chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate covered cherries! I love mint chocolates as well. I thought about giving up chocolate for Lent, but soon realized I would be setting myself up for failure, lol!!
