I guess we can all fantasise about this and for me it would have to be a return to mid-1951. I was learning to do the waltz, foxtrot, tango etc in Jimmy Quinn's dance school. I was sixteen-and-a-half. Met my first true love, Stella, who was 23. I'd lied about my age, and because of this I had to leave her when I was 17, but she thought I'd be 18 and due to go into the armed services.

I was a young and foolish lad who couldn't face Stella once I'd written a confessional letter of goodbye.

50 years later I found her again but of course everything was different then. She was not the Stella I once knew; she had her own true love now, her husband.

But it would be so lovely just to hold her and kiss her as it was in 1951. She loved me too, then , and I'd hurt her when I sent my goodbye letter to her.

Oh Jo, you've really started something now! Go stand on the naughty step!

PhilPhilipHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06811831703263176415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1518800171649154035.post-87220251028672420622009-06-10T15:24:30.256-07:002009-06-10T15:24:30.256-07:00I would visit the future because it pisses me off ...I would visit the future because it pisses me off to know that I won't get to see the end of my kids stories( hopefully!) and won't know if we ever get flying cars and rocket packs and stuff.crone51https://www.blogger.com/profile/06831571973211180467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1518800171649154035.post-21374679577635581512009-06-10T15:04:14.487-07:002009-06-10T15:04:14.487-07:00I'm happy with the time I'm in. I would like to visit the past, not stay, and I would want to be an observer, as if I were on a safari. For every time that I think of that interests me is not a good time to be a woman. I would like to visit WWII era. I would like to meet the WACs and the WAVES and the AirWomen who hauled men and cargo. I would like to see shipbuilding, and aircraft building. I would like to visit all four of my grandparents who were active in the war. I would also like to see what things were like in other countries at that time. History that we learn in the US is quite slanted and from a US centered view. It was an ugly time in many ways, but also a catalyst for good things and innovations.Essiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11076813063073036018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1518800171649154035.post-5031669334475017432009-06-10T08:56:19.989-07:002009-06-10T08:56:19.989-07:00I would like to go back to sixties, with all that ...I would like to go back to sixties, with all that agitated times ans protests.
