The other night the Munchkins and I watched a fun little movie called "Hoodwinked". I had never seen it before, and I loved it. It starred Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close, James Belushi, Patrick Warburton, Anthony Anderson, David Ogden Stiers, Xzibit, Chazz Palminteri, Andy Dick, Cory Edwards, and Benjy Gaither as Japeth the Goat.
"Hookwinked" is a hoot, and Japeth the Goat steals the show. He is the most wonderful character I have ever seen -- ever -- in an animated movie. He's a singing hermit goat, who lives in an old shack on the mountain. Several years ago a mountain witch put a spell on him, forcing him to sing everything he says. He plays the banjo and sings in Appalachian mountain style, as only a goat can sing. I was mesmerized. Did I mention ... he steals every scene he's in. I keep playing this little video over ... and over ... until the Munchkins are hollering, "Nooooo ... not again...!" I thought I would share this character with you, and I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

Pretty cool how he rocks on his own horns.
He is cute, loved the horn rocking, and I understand completely. One of my favorite movies is the wizard of oz, kids are sick of it. Except the little one.....
Very cute. Perhaps a witch put a spell on both my father and sister, they are both ones for turning nonsense into songs on a regular basis.
I love to watch animated films with my grandchildren. Some of my favorite movies are those.....or maybe it is the memory of that warm little body next to mine and all the sweet giggles.....
I wasn't pre-paaaaaaarrrred for that one! Too cute!
I loved the movie as well. It's actually quite a plot and I think most kids don't get that part. But they don't really care, do they?
Well, like they used to say in the Seventies: Adult movies, sick. Kids' movies, great. Thinking later of A Fish Called Wanda. Think I'd like to see Hoodwinked with my grandchildren, but they are now far away.
I loved this movie, so did my grandkids. I think Japeth ought to show my Goth how creative a horned animal can be.
That's a great Youtube clip. I am a great fan of kids animated films ever since I first saw Steamboat Willie - the Walt Disney film with sound, featuring the one and only Mickey Mouse.
I think I was about 4 or 5 when my Mum took me to Kennards Arcade in Croydon, a large department store.
The film was being shown for kids and their mums and cost nothing, which made it all the more wonderful.
Loved it; love this Japeth guy too!
I'll definitely watch the movie now.
Thanks Jo!

How cute.
Sounds like my kind of movie since I like to sing if you say something that reminds me of a song. Now I'm not saying I have a good voice, but still....
Cool video!!
Oh look! He's got Swiss Army Horns!
My nearly nineteen-year-old son is still good enough to watch the occasional animated flick with me. I'm huge fan. See Up if you get the chance, it was wonderful.
I'll be renting this one. You had me at Singing Hermit Mountain Goat.
Who could resist?
Oh, so cute :D Wonderful to be with the Munchkins too :D
Have a Happy Day, Jo!
I remember seeing this movie in the theater a while back, when my teen age daughter and I had an improptu stop at a cinema because we wanted to see a movie, ANY movie, and NOT caring what we'd have to watch. Then we did. Care, that is, because the movie turned out to be Hoodwinked and it was delightful! Thanks for reminding me. I think we'll rent it this weekend!
I was never one for modern animated films but I have watched some of them with my grandchildren and I must admit they are very clever and some are very good.
Oh that's great! Thanks for sharing it with us...
yup, the goat does still steal the scene...
:)
I have a granddaughter who needs to see that. I heard great things about the squirrel too. I heard Red wasn't so hot. (snicker)
