Did you ever have one of those day where you felt just like the person in Edvard Munch's painting "The Scream"? Edvard Munch said the painting almost drove him mad. Of his famous painting, he said, “I was walking down the road with two friends when the sun set; suddenly, the sky turned as red as blood. I stopped and leaned against the fence, feeling unspeakably tired. Tongues of fire and blood stretched over the bluish black fjord. My friends went on walking, while I lagged behind, shivering with fear. Then I heard the enormous, infinite scream of nature.” That pretty much describes the day I just had, so if everyone will excuse me, I'm going to put on my fuzzy slippers, have a big, hot cup of cocoa, and relax with my New Yorker Magazine. And then, lucky me, I get to do the whole thing all over again tomorrow.
Oh, goodness, ya gotta laugh.

Oh no...sorry. If it makes you feel any better...my day wasn't so hot either.
Feel better, Jo
Aloha, Friend!

This is what I admire about you Jo... the strength of spirit to en off a day like you had saying "You gotta laught". Go girl, nothing will stop you.
Aww, poor baby. Does that help?
If you'd like company, make another hot chocolate.
"the enormous, infinite scream of nature" is incredible.
OMG JO! those days are fierce! singing helpsbut of course everyone around you will think ur nutzz but what the heck! =0D
Oh yes, I know that feeling. I have days where I just want to put on a bunny suit and scream.
Oh goodness, my whole year's been like that so far lol. The fuzzy slippers and cocoa help immensely. Although I'm seriously considering breaking out the liquor!
Jo...is this postpartum Olympic depression or just another bad day? either way go ahead, but a wee nip in the cocoa and shriek from the balcony.
I'm with ya there. I think I've had an entire week of that.
Did you scream out loud, or just in your head?
Your last sentence made me chuckle. As long as you can laugh, you'll be fine.
I hope today (the next day) will be a better one for you. I think sometimes we need to have just one day like that so we can appreciate the rest!
I've had several of those days lately, in fact. I did most of my screaming in my own head, though.
Someone just called me at work & when I asked her how she was she said, "it's Friday Eve!" And for some reason I felt instantly better. Heh.
What a great way to say "I had a bad day." So much more description.
I hope your tomorrow is better!
*HUGS* I hope the coco and slippers helped. Feel better.
With a toddler and a newborn I'm having lots of those kinds of days! Lets hope the slippers and cocoa helped! I'm hoping that you're having a much better day today:)
Hope you feel better now.
Yes, yesterday was just such a day for me.
Laugh good and hardy sister, while enjoying the coziness of your favorite spot, warm slippers and a good mag. Relax! Ahhhhhh.....
Ya'll have a greatly blessed day!!!
So sorry Jo, I hope you have a better day tomorrow!!
Oh, you put my picture up on your blog! hahaha
I'm having home made stew and cornbread. Took a long, hot bath. Going to hit the ibuprofen. Ignore the world!
Til in the morning when the cat wakes me up to go back to work! D
Dear Jo,
hopefully you are feeling better towards the end of this day.
Already inside Friday, allow me to send you its calm and peace.
And yes...oh! yes there has been time and again such a moment, Wednesday for example - yet, it seems as if time did continue and one might be able to get through.
I feel your pain, Jo! Ditto for my day. This too shall pass, cher! Cheers!
hmhm..
the painting does bring out a blunt shard of agony...
hope you feel better soon...
cheers....
I feel that way every time I see Obama in front of his teleprompter, lying his way through another speech.
You guys crack me up. Honest to God, you are all a hoot...!
I'm feeling much better today, thank you. :-)
Cheers,
Jo
The great thing about horrible days is that you'll always get the chance to repeat them.
I have always thought that the figure in The Scream is not actually screaming, but hearing or feeling the scream.
