Magical Mystery Gift...

Yesterday at work one of my co-workers gave me a lovely little gift, and I have no idea what it is. At first I thought it was a key chain. It's very pretty, and I like it, but I'm not sure what it is meant to be used for...

It opens, and the segmented part of it is magnetized.  It has pretty little pavé rhinestones on the top of it.  I rather like it, and I love the thought behind it -- it was very sweet -- and the person who gave it to me is a lovely, thoughtful person.  I just wish I knew what this little object is...  Does anyone know?

  1. I'd have to answer in Woodstock talk out of Charlie Brown on that one.

    YYYYyyyyYYYYyyyy

But Snoopy and Woodstock always know what the other is saying.

  2. it looks to me like a purse hanger. I've not seen them with the chain, but perhaps that's to be able to clip it to your keys or something. You unwind the jointed part, turn it sideways, and lay the jeweled part on the table, and hang your purse on the jointed part which is hanging down under the edge of the table.

  3. Raevyn is correct - it is a purse hanger. Follow her directions.

  5. Thank you ... ! I have clicked on the link et voila! it is a purse hanger. What a wonderful idea. I had never heard of a purse hanger before. I knew my brilliant readers would figure it out for me.

Now if you folks could only figure out the origin of the candy "humbug". *heh*

    Cheers!

  6. That's one of those accessories that I would never think to buy, but would love if I did have it on the right purse.

  7. That's a handbag holder, you put it on the table & hang your bag on the underside of it. :)

In my City the hype calmed down pretty fast, after the first women got their handbags stolen easier that way... since you tend to not hold it close to you, while drinking outside of a Café. ;)

  10. A purse hanger?! Is that some newfangled fancy-shmancy Canadian thang? I've never heard of one before. I learn something every time I come here.

  12. I thought it was a purse zipper pull and the outer magnetized part could hold a scarf. The purse hangers I have seen, have a sturdier hook, I have something like a purse hanger, but it is to put keys on one end and hang the other inside your purse to find your keys easier.

  13. it looks like one of those center things that makes a bunch of different colored lights and turns water into mist that looks like and is almost as light as smoke.

  17. I had guessed it was some sort of key change. Just goes to show a person learns something new every day.

In my case, I often learn more than one thing a day. I just wish I could remember it all!

  18. I'm betraying my ignorance by asking how does a normally weighted purse not pull the emblem off the table?

  19. Cool - I need one of those! I'll have to check them out. The website says they'll hold up to 20 pounds - hopefully my purse doesn't weight THAT much!

  20. A purse hanger? Who would have thought? I have seen a few purse hangers, but none quite like this. Won't you impress the 'giver' when you use it and they see you using it?
