And while we're at it, how do we get rid of the rest of these people?
Lady Gaga actually has a beautiful voice. The lady can sing, but does she really have to keep showing her crotch in her music videos? Is that art? Recently, a little ten-year old girl shared the stage with Gaga, singing "I Was Born This Way". Has the child's mother actually watched the video? The next person to follow Lady Gaga is going to push the envelope even further, and we will all accept it. That scares me. Please go away, Lady Gaga.
Oprah has her OWN network. *Y-A-W-N* First of all, I have never liked people telling me how to think. A typical Oprah quote: "My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment." Say what? News flash, Oprah, most people, out of necessity, live their lives as reactions to others' actions. It's a dance we all do. You're very, very wealthy now, Oprah, so please go away.
What can one say, when a 17 year-old boy's latest haircut makes world headlines? Will future sociologists and anthropologists look upon this as odd? Will they wonder what a strange society we had constructed for ourselves? I mean, think about it. Really think about it. A 17 year-old boy gets his hair cut and it's headline news in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. You're a very wealthy young man now, Justin. Please just go away. Or better yet, go back to school.
Is this a crazy world or what?

I agree Josie - total and utter trash! Here on the News the subject went from Libya to Victoria Beckham getting told off for parking in a disabled spot! I despair!
Dxx
I'm right with you. The Charlie Sheen story, especially, is a tragedy but it is not news and not something I need to hear about ad infinitum.
Very good post, Jo!. Just add the Dior head designer, Galliano, to your list.
It's sad, isn't it? This is yet another reason I choose not to watch the news...
I agree with you. Please add Levi Johnson to your list ...
Ha ha ha! Loved this post! You are so right about these people who are hogging the news. However in Norway, its the Ski world cup that is all over the news. It's hard not to be impressed when Norway is on the top of the list of gold winners.
But thanks for making me laugh:-D
Hi Jo! Oh, your post made me chuckle. Go away indeed!
Cheers,
Jo
"How Can We Make Them Go Away...?"
By changing viewing habits.
"Having been out of touch, I was curious to find out what had been going on in the world lately. I switched on CNN."
Next time when you are "curious to find out what had been going on in the world lately" switch on BBC World News or Al Jazeera English.....
Take a look:

Bravo Jo!
I have never loved you more than I love you right now. May I suggest Russel Brand be tossed on the scrap heap also?
You are very funny when you get mad. I agree with you about each of those morons. Too bad there seems to be an insatiable public desire to know their every meaningless thought and action.
Absolutely. maybe if we all start chanting "go away" it will work.
I just love it when you get your feathers ruffled! You are spot on dear one..
Brava, Jo!
What qualifies as "news" these days is just a sordid attempt to garner ratings through sensationalism.
It's very sad, and very annoying. Unfortunately, it's also very profitable.
Boo to CNN.
I know many alcoholic and addict people. They don't get the same publicity as Charlie Sheen, but they share his disease. Poor man.
As usual Jo, you've made me laugh! I totally agree with you about Charlie Sheen, and I think he is delusional on top of all his other problems. I don't get Lady Gaga's popularity at all - she seems like a less talented remake of Madonna to me. Justin is only for prepubescent little girls, I guess. I must admit though, I really do like Oprah.
Haha I couldn't agree more! Even though I have been a lifelong Oprah fan... :-/ haha But on all other points I totally agree!
Yes I so agree, make them go away but
maybe the answer for us in New Zealand is for them all to come here and raise funds for our earthquake fund! Eleven days ago Christchurch was devastated, shattered and literally shaken; lives were lost and the whole country is affected. We are a small nation and the effect is immense.
Certainly helps to get things in perspective.
I love your blogs.

Hi Josie,
What a laugh you gave me here. I confess I didn't know about the 'haircut' that made headlines. LOL
Thanks for emerging from your recent activities to keep us on top of these recent earth shaking developments.
Cheers!!
What ever happened to the "real" news? I agree with you that these people and quite a few others need to go away...far away!
I am so glad that I live a million miles away from anywhere and miss all the updates on these people!
What about all the m0r0ns who buy these "Sleb" magazines? Hello, you know the type I'm on about. Utter cr@p - a waste of paper, not to mention money. Who the bloody hell cares about these people?
I love this post! They do all need to go away and I agree with DUTA, you can add the Galliano incident to this as well.
I am saddened by the fact that our youth today prefer to be entertained by the outrageousness and pain of other rather than by true art and entertainment. Bravo Jo! Bravo!
Josie....well said.....I couldn't have said it better myself....kudos!
I want to point out one mistake in your post. Justin Bieber isn't a boy. I'm sure of it. Otherwise I agree fully with everything you said.
Little Justin sent a lock of his hair to Ellen DeGeneres, who requested it. Then she auctioned it off to raise money for The Gentle Barn, an animal rescue organization, and it brought $40,668.
I agree with Duta. John Galliano needs to go away, too. And Christian Dior deserves kudos for firing him, as does Natalie Portman for expressing her disgust with his bigotry.
Amen sister, amen !I am actually considering a moratorium on television watching around here, or at least anything remotely likely to report the latest celebrity news. There are far too many true heroes and deserving victims that should be getting any free air time, but as usual, they don't matter, especially when the public clamors for the like of C.S. Hate to even write his name and give him an iota of acknowledgment.
It is a crazy soundbite world. Could we add Sarah Palin to that list?
I love this post and agree with them all!
Add Halle Berry to the list. If we've seen her once, we've seen her a million times. And, seriously, you'd think by now she'd be tired of that bad Jimmy Fallon haircut she sports. Maybe she should get in touch with Justin Beiber's barber. But that just spells "headlines," doesn't it? How are we ever going to avoid this crap? LOL!
ha ha ha :) You are really funny! I love your sense of humor. You are just like my friend JO.You both share the same name and when you both are angry you make everyone laugh!!
I don't understand why people go gaga over Justin.. I don't like him at all.
