The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

I think we have all reached the saturation point with the Royal Wedding. The Abbey is closed and locked, the wine glasses are washed and put away, and William's mischievous brother, Prince Harry, is at home nursing his hangover. But I have two favourite photos I wanted to post here on my little blog. This photograph above is one.

And this is the other one. Just as William and Catherine were leaving the balcony at Buckingham Palace, Catherine glanced back over her shoulder for one last look at the crowd, and for me, the look of delight on her face summed up the whole day.  Can you imagine what she must have been feeling just at that moment?  There is a whole story in her expression.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge seem to be a down-to-earth, genuine couple and I hope they will be very happy.

Now, its time to let them begin a new life and go their way.

Yes, her expression says worlds. And her outfit is much better than his, too.

These two seem so genuine in their love for each other, I just hope our UK press strike a balance and allows them to have some privacy thats all William has ever wanted

Thank heavens something else will be covered on the news now, but you're right: these are lovely scenes, and they are a beautiful couple.

Sweet, they seem to be genuinely in love. I was wondering how she must have felt throughout the entire day.

I noticed her face when she looked back also! That was my favorite moment. She looks so happy.I also enjoyed Harry's face when Kate was coming down the aisle and he said something to Will(who never turned around)...I wonder what he said?

It was a wonderful two days of excitement for me, but, as you say, let's hope they get left alone for a while. Now it's on to more exciting things like the Canadian election - *yawn* - although I'm hoping everyone will get out and vote (as well as watching the hockey game) to give Harper a majority so he can make Canada an even better country than it is.

Great choice of pictures Jo.
Pomp and circumstance plus genuine outflow of love and affection made for a memorable day.
Nobody does it better than the Brits when it comes to these pageants. The music and fanfares, the colour, the horses (so well-behaved), and above all the sheer delight of those who made the effort to be there in person. A good day. And the fly-past, with the mighty Lancaster bomber, the Spitfire and Hurricane: a grand finale por moi. Good old RAF, of which I was once a proud member back in the 1950s.

Yes, I noticed that last look over the shoulder, too. I liked it. Seemed appropriate.

It was like she was saying "thanks" to all the people as she stepped into her new world.

Yes, yes exactly! It was in the way she said, "Oh Wow!" when she first walked out. And the way she turned, to look back in awe and gratitude and very real awareness that This Is It. This Is The Moment, and I am living it for all of you :)

That was my favorite moment of all, when Prince William turned and took her hand to make sure she was at his side and then she took one more glance back at all of us with that radiant smile. My heart was filled with happiness at that moment!
