Like Watching Paint Dry -- A Tour Of My Treehouse Terrace

Of all the ridiculous things, "Forbes Magazine" has voted Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver the third sexiest beach in the world. Oh, goodness, what will they think of next?. Just when you think things can't get any sillier -- they do. The number one sexiest beach was South Beach in Miami, and number two was Main Beach in East Hampton, New York.

"Vancouver's Kitsilano Beach is where sexy locals and Hollywood interlopers relish the opportunity to peel down to their swimsuits and flaunt what they've got among the sand, beachwood and mountain vistas," the article says. Kits Beach is graced by hedonistic frenzy — when the July and August sun heats this intoxicating nexus of sea, forest and mountains." ... Forbes Magazine

Hedonistic frenzy?

Well, I guess that's why I avoid Kits Beach in July and August, and stay right here in my little treehouse. Not much hedonistic frenzy here, and that's just fine with me. It's quiet, it's peaceful, and it's the best place to be in the middle of the summer. So, at the risk of boring the tar out of you, here is a tour of my little treehouse terrace, taken today -- on a summer morning.

I would much rather be sitting in your little treehouse terrace then on a crowded beach. Thanks for the tour. Happy week-end.

Beautiful video.
What a surprising gentle voice you have. I enjoyed everything, the freshness of your voice, the flowers and the trees.
Including the chukle (excuse my very imperfect english) when passing neighhbours house. :))

(And I was wandering - is the painting in your blog from your mother?)

I have a feeling you are going to have some people inviting themselves to your little tree house terrace! Very nice and, yes, I agree with the others, you have a lovely voice.

Your terrace is a wonderful place and it is hard to believe it is in the middle of a major city!

What a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere for you after a busy day. I imagine you sitting out there contemplating your next post. The temperatures in the Southern US keep the majority of us indoors. You have a lovely tree house.

Jo, I loved your tour - it's amazing how many plants you're growing in such a small space, and they look so happy - like your voice!

That was great fun, and thank you for it! Honestly, it was so soothing, and pretty. What a nice, refreshing little video, and a lovely place to come home to everyday for you!

Hedonistic frenzy? Hehe, I'm sure that the Forbes writer was trying to conjure and image. He or she probably should have shot for something a little less evocative of the fall of the Roman empire though!

There's also a decidedly Old Testament ring to that, which is amusing in a list of the Sexiest Beaches.

Jo,

Love your terrace!! I especially enjoyed the sounds of the birds. What a lovely place to sit and read or paint or simply reflect. Thanks for sharing.

Soft-spoken I are not.

I hear Dr. David Suzuki lives nearby.
Scientist to the end, he's now fammous and busy with his writing. The previous job was dull, dull, dull. He had to goose fruit flies fer the DNA, but as a biologist he has to keep his hand in. He may well be chasing choosy sea cucumbers at Kitsilano Beach.

Gorgeous. Feels like you're in an enchanted forest there.

From now on I will be able to "hear" you as I read your words!

Lovely terrace to escape to after a long day at work. I escape to my bedroom. That is why I take great pains to make my bed and keep the room as tidy as possible....it is my escape.

What a gorgeous balcony, and actually, quite large, I might add. And how wonderful to look off into trees instead of more condos/townhomes. I love all the flowers you have and am happy to see that you can hang a bird feeder. I love that I can hear that bird in the background in the last few seconds of the video. I've heard that bird before, but don't know what kind of bird it is. Do you?

Hi Jo, What a lovely, sweet voice you have. I never watch video clips on the internet as here in SA internet is very expensive and video clips just eats up the megabytes, but yours look so interesting I simply had to take a peek and how glad I am that I did. Hearing your voice and seeing a small slice of your live really made you come alive for me. Thank you for sharing with us.
