Hello ... Are You Still There ...?

Good morning, everyone...! Are you still there? I am still here. I have been in hibernation over the past couple of weeks, reading some wonderful books, getting lots of sleep, trying to stay warm ... brrr. Have you read any good books lately?  The novelist John O'Hara once wrote a collection of short stories called "Waiting for Winter". The title of the book was in reference to the fact that during the summer months he could only write short stories, and in the winter he wrote his serious books. I think that is sort of like my blogging, except just the opposite. I start to thaw when the spring months roll around. I'm not a big fan of the cold weather. I'll be back very soon.

In the meantime, please ... um ... bear with me.

Cheers!

Jo

My post from last night was very similar. The difference is, that even in my sloth-like state, I still put things on my blog. My readers would probably rather I hibernated!

Yes. And, what is the status of your noisy neighbors? Have you started shooting through their windows yet?

I've been deep into Lynda LaPlante's novels about a female British detective - it's a series written by the same woman who did the Prime Suspect books and TV series with Helen Mirren. The books are addictive!

Pity we can't just hibernate properly until Spring is sprung, init?

I really understand what you mean, Jo. I took a two-week break with my mind a total blank. Getting caught up with good books and self care is an excellent winter pursuit! Take all the time you need! We'll all still be here waiting for your next cycle of inspiration!

I loved 11/22/63. We were in Hawaii when I downloaded it on my Kindle, and for a couple of days we stayed indoors and read instead of enjoying the warmth and sun!

Love how all of us readers here are just that - readers, curled up through the winter. from the moment i returned to england from the delicious heat of Singapore all I have done is curl up under the electric blanket, drinking ginger tea, reading the Hunger Games on my kindle. Nearly done...

I just finished Amy Stewarts 'From the Ground Up'. Very fast read but it was so charming and put me back into the gardening spirit. Now I'm reading 'Gardening At The Dragons Gate'. So far so good.
