The Reunion

A group of 40 year-old buddies get together and discuss where they should meet for dinner. Finally it is agreed that they should meet at the Gasthof zum Löwen restaurant because the waitresses there have low cut blouses and nice breasts.

Ten years later, at 50 years of age the group meets again, and once again they discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed that they should meet at the Gasthof zum Löwen because the food and the wine selection there is very good.

Ten years later at 60 years of age the group meets again, and once again they discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed that they should meet at the Gasthof zum Löwen because they can eat there in peace and quiet, and the restaurant is smoke-free.

Ten years later, at 70 years of age the group meets again, and once again they discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed that they should meet at the Gasthof zum Löwen because the restaurant is wheelchair accessible and they have an elevator.

Ten years later, at 80 years of age the group meets again, and once again they discuss where they should meet. Finally it is agreed that they should meet at the Gasthof zum Löwen because they have never been there before.

I think the 80 year olds would say, because the waitress wear low cut dresses and have big breasts.

Ah yes, the joy of rediscovering things that comes with having forgotten them in the first place. The 80 year olds will be able to marvel over the shapely servers. Note the excellent food and wine, the ease of getting into the building, all at once!

Woo hoo! That was a cheering thing to read, Jo. Thank you for it.

By the way, I missed several of your posts but I'm either always in work out clothes, or jeans and a variety of sweaters, sweatshirts, or tees depending on the season.

I don't think I'd ever compute nude. Both my laptop and my desktop have a webcam in them...which I have never, and will never use...but I have something of a fear that one day it will start transmitting without my knowledge. No kidding. It's not a fear that keeps me up at night or anything, but it exists, "I don't want to accidentally turn this thing on!"

When I'm eighty, perhaps I'll have forgotten about it ;-) Only forty years to go.

And Alane - that is totally the kind of thing that I might imagine happening! Now THAT would be an interesting reality show!

Each age with its features and problems ,and yet the Reunion is a nice concept.
BTW, in the hebrew version of the story, in the last two lines one of the 80 yar olds recommends the place and another says: "Splendid idea, let's go, we've never been there". (memory, memory)

Very funny Jo. I guess we're all headed there. Won't it be nice to experience everything for the first time again?
