Jennifer Lawrence needs to fire her stylist. As soon as I saw Jennifer on the red carpet, wearing that elaborate skirt, I knew what was going to happen. This wonderful, talented young lady has won an Oscar at the age of 22, and all everyone tweeted about last night on the social media was her trip-and-fall. She fell very badly, and took a long time to get back to her feet and regain her composure. What should have been one of the most wonderful moments in her life instead became one of the most embarrassing. Fire your stylist, Jennifer, but keep your agent.
The first time I saw Jennifer Lawrence, she played a poverty-stricken teenager in the Ozarks, in a movie called Winter's Bone. If you haven't seen it, put it on your must-see list. Jennifer Lawrence's performance is haunting and brilliant. Jennifer Lawrence will win another Oscar one day, and I'm sure she won't let her stylist talk her into wearing a treacherous dress resembling a minefield -- an accident waiting to happen.
Congratulations on your success, Ms. Lawrence. You have earned it.

What a shame! The dress is truly hideous though and belongs at a wedding if anywhere.
That dress is hideous. My wife watched and had mentioned that Lawrence had tripped and that is all everyone will talk about. It is a shame, but she is young, probably didn't hurt anything but her pride and it will some day be a source for a good tale when she collect future oscars.
At least it was not the staged affair that Angelina's leg created last year. Quite a production was made over that. Meanwhile Angelina looked like she was battling a serious case of anorexia and everyone was carrying on about how sexy she was.
I can't see why some think the dress is hideous. I liked it, although I did think it was a treacherous skirt, especially in high heels.
She is a wonderful actress and seems to be down to earth, so I can't imagine that she will let that fall bother her too much in the future.
She recovered herself pretty well, I thought. You are so right about that dress! What a disaster waiting to happen. Sheesh...
I thought it was quite pretty except that it sat too low in the front. And I think she recovered nicely with her comment about "you're just doing that 'cuz I fell and it was really embarrassing, but thank you anyway." You're right, though, that it'll be a great story some day in the future.
I must say I didn't give much thought to the dress or the fall...I was just so pleased that she got her Oscar - Silver Linings Playbook is a wonderful film - I've seen it twice. Bradley Cooper was also electrifying in this film. Robert de Niro was perfect as the Brooklyn daddy - clearly no Botox on his marvellously expressive face. The two young actors have great careers ahead of them.
