Flutterbies and Cutterbups

We are having unseasonably hot weather here in British Columbia. In the Lower Mainland, some areas have reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with a relative humidity of 15%. That is hot. And very, very dry. We often get temperatures like this from July until September, but on June 3rd? Goodness! So, as much as I would love to stay indoors and visit with all of you wonderful folks, it's just too hot. I'll be over to visit you very soon. But, I'm not complaining ... I love it. Stay cool...!

Ugh. Unbearable heat is the worst. Do your best to stay cool and we look forward to hearing from you once you have turned on the ac and gotten a nice tall glass of iced tea or lemonade. :)

How strange the weather has been of late.... Yesterday was hot and humid and today it is downright chilly...... Maybe Al Gore is onto something.......

Hi Jo :) I love the flowers and the butterfly. When wild flower season starts here in California I always take a trip up north and hike through the flower fields. It is sooooooooo beautiful!
Neat video too!
Stay Cool, Girlie :D

It's been hot here but not that bad, and with heavier humidity.

With all the bitching I did about winter's arctic cold I refuse to complain about the heat (if it ever really settles in for more than a day here.)

I cannot stand heat........... I wish it was winter. Having said that, I like summer, but with cool weather rather than stifling heat. Have fun!!!!!

We were sweltering on Tuesday (very hot & humid) & then yesterday & today have felt downright cold. Still rainy - although JUST as I typed that, the sun came out and a beam landed on my hands. Twilight zone!

Love the pic - I sure hope we have flowers in the back yard of our new place!

i was just saying how i've only been in such humidity once in my life and I immediately got ill and was put to bed! What a wimp I am!

I complain about the dry heat here in the high desert, but lucky for me it cools off at night, and we are so close to the mountains...a quick ride in the car and there are whispering pines all around you.

Here at Lake Tahoe we have been having an unseasonably cool and rainy week or two. Everything is so green it looks like BC. Weird.

Love the MM clip Jo! She was so pretty and much more talented than the girls today. My three year old said today..."Mommy its too hot outside."

I don't suppose you would have air conditioning up there. Down here, inside is the ONLY place to be when the weather gets like that.

Well, right now here in my office the temp is 60º at almost 11:00 am. It will warm up. There is a temperate, warm-cool air that I love and that I wish would exist year around here. I cannot explain it; it brings up memories for me and I feel an odd sensation of beauty so lovely and so transient and so precious.

I should be tending to my garden but here I am blogging. I should I should I should........

Oh how I love monarch butterflies! I have one tattoo'd on my ankle to remind me of my grandmother.

Enjoy the sunshine and warm weather, all too soon it will be like the arctic tundra again. :)

Just the opposite for the flatlands. It's unusually cold here. I had to dig my sweat pants back out as the temps dropped into the 50s. It's killing my zinnias.

And I'll take 15% humidity any day. It's the muggy Midwest summers that are killer, more so than the temp.

That is hot weather by any standards. It was high 50's in SF today, business as usual.

Lovely picture of butterflies and buttercups, so happy looking. Nature can be so festive sometimes, can't she?

Gosh, those are unusual temperatures for this time of year! We've been having frost on the east coast - go figure. And, a friend of mine, who lives in the north central part of California is having five inches of snow tonight!
