Missing In Action...

You see that beach? Well, you see that person sitting beside that log down there? Yes ... that one ... right over there. Well, that's me. Summer has hit Vancouver like a freight train. Tomorrow we have the day off work for Canada Day, and I will be outdoors taking advantage of the wonderful, beautiful, spectacular weather. My friend Leslie and I are going to go on one of our excellent adventures and then we are going to come back to my terrace and eat copious amounts of Häagen-Dazs vanilla bean ice cream with blueberries.

I will be back to visit you all in a couple of days.

To all my Canadian friends, Happy Canada Day!

Jo, At least you have the ocean breezes - we hit 108 degrees here two days ago and we are slowly going down to 100! Have a great respite!

Enjoy it. I am happier when the mercury is no higher than about 20 celsius.

Very warm at Wimbledon over the past couple of days; around 30c or so today. Rather them than me.

Good morning from Athens, how are you doing? Found meself upon a beach for the last couple of days and am able to say that it was very much needed/worth it. However wasn't able to do any pictures ;) as a delicate cut kept me away from swimming...wish you a wonderful time!

Yes, HCD. If I read about an ice cream shortage I will know that you REALLY had a good time.

Have a fun time and eat lots of ice cream. Let's see here now. Sun, surf, sand and ice cream. And all in one of the most incredible cities in the world!

I am here in the middle of Iowa and
if you listen closely you can hear the corn growing (seriously you can!). Not exactly the sound of waves crashing against the beach but....!

Have fun in the sun!

Happy Canada Day. Down here in SA it is cold and everybody either sick, getting sick or just getting over it.

Happy Canada Day!

I am currently doing a project with a bunch of folks from PEI and they are all off today. I hope they have as nice a day as you have planned.

Don't blame you for taking a break, a holiday in Vancouver sounds like so much more fun than blogging.

btw, I did write a public safety announcement on my blog today which is very important and I want to get the word out to as many as possible. I realize that many of your visitors are not from the US, but I'm sure this can apply to anyone. I hope you don't mind if I put up a link to my post. Thanks in advance.

Happy Canada Day, Jo.

It's great over here in Newmaket Ontario as well-- this town perched atop Toronto, but still retaining a small town feel... Cabanas near the millponds, food kisoks, live bands, people of all colours dressd in all colours. There is strong sense of belonging. The street is full from end to end with happy, laughing, hug-a friend or stranger-- people.
On this day, I swear that this country really works!

Hi Jo, I couldn't help noticing all the logs on the beach and wondering if they are put there on purpose. Are they and for what pupose? (Stupid SA question probably but please I'm curious).
