Oops

I notice from my list of followers that two people have removed themselves as of today, and I do apologize if my last post or the painting on it offended anyone. It was meant to be fun, and not -- provoking -- in any way. I value everyone who reads my boring little blog.

Anyway, I do apologize if anyone was offended...

*sigh*

Oh, well, it's all in good fun. Have a fabulous evening, everyone!

We are fortunate to have our swimming pool in a completely private part of our garden. It is not unusual in the middle of summer after some strenuous gardening, to strip off and take a plunge. Don't know that I'd care to do it amongst the leeches in a stream or the sand at the beach. Also the thought of all those ugly bodies would turn me off. Each to his/her own!

I have never found your writing to be offensive. Thought provoking, confrontational and humorous; not offensive. I don't skinny dip here at the campground...... I am afraid some of my clientele might join me!

Oh well, it's 2009 after all and if they get offended by a mention of skinny dipping then they just need to lighten the hell up!

"September morn" has a history of provoking controversy. What a pity! It is so pretty and innocent. As to mass skinny dipping, I agree with Marcella that all those odd bodies would probably be off-putting.

That's hilarious - sorry, but being offended by that post would make a person a little too sensitive! Are you not allowed to talk about current events or art? Ha!

Jo, can't please all the people all the time...and you certainly please most. You delight me daily!

It is a lovely art paintin the one from your blog below, how can anybody can be ofended?
My mom is a medical doctor, and she also pains, and she has a thing for the human body but not in the sexual way, I thinlk is related to hear carrear, and she sometimes paints naked people and hands her paintings in the house walls, as a joke I tell her they are pornographic, she use to get angry with that, but she doesn't any more (My mom is a pretty consevative person).
My point is that if you are going to repress yourself so much and have so many predjudices, you will be unable to enjoy lots and lots of pleasureable things that are in this world.
Take care my new friend

I think people come and go - you just have to be yourself. It happens to me all the time. But my blog is for my writing, as is yours. I didn't find it in the least offensive.

Jo, you remind me of my mom in that you're usually worried you're going to offend or anger. You shouldn't worry so much!! I've never been offended by a single word on your blog. Besides, you write first and foremost for yourself, don't you? You should write what you feel and know, whether that makes other people happy or not.

Just my two cents :)

It's lovely that you are concerned about your readers but everyone else has a point; you should write what you choose. I'm afraid that if you censor yourself to try to avoid hurting or offending people that your blog will become a chore. And those of us with broader minds and thicker skins would be truly disappointed to find you less vocal or genuine.
Please keep writing what you like. I love to read your little tidbits and I've encountered lots of new information. Thank you!

Yes, I concur with your other commenters. Write for yourself first and don't worry how it's going to affect others. Chances are the reasons for dropping off may have nothing to do with your post ("Ass-u-me", ya know?)
When you please yourself, you delight many. I think I'll do a blog on skinnydipping!

I always read your blog, even if I don't comment. Sometimes I literally just have NOTHING floating round in my head with which to combine into proper sentences!

Blessings and lovely painting!

Ah Jo, I find that people drop out of following my blog all of the time, and someone new takes their place shortly afterward. I would never stop to think that it was something I said and I seriously doubt you said anything to offend anyone. They just moved on.. or cleared their list.. or deleted their own blog.. etc.

Thanks, everyone! I must admit I was feeling a bit concerned that I had offended someone, and I know there is some history behind the painting "September Morn" ... but as you all say ... I write for myself. Blogging is fun, isn't it?

Poo on them, I love skinny dipping. The human body is a thing of beauty. Send them to an art museum.

I agree with the Chic Geek- it is just not possible to keep everyone happy all the times. Just keep smiling.

I'm also not sure that the list of followers is the best indicator of your popularity. I once went to look at the blogs of all my followers and found that more than half of them hadn't done anything for months. Maybe they just follow and don't blog. But who knows. I never find you offensive...but then again, Bagman is nuts. Be yourself.

Not offended. Just wish I looked as good in the nude as the lady in the painting. :-)

Takes all sorts Jo. The loss of two followers is earth-shatteringly tragic of course, but I know you will survive. ;-)

Not to worry, Jo, this is very common in the blogosphere. (people coming and going) Your blog is fabulous!
I wonder, though, what they would have thought about the "nude cruises" available out of Galveston, Texas?

I couldn't figure out what was offensive with your post or that picture. I guess there are some who are unaware of the beauty of the naked body. That was by no means porn or distasteful...but to each his own I guess. Anyway...skinny dipping sounds like fun and even though I have my own swimming pool, I haven't been brave enough to try it at night. Maybe I will this summer, just for the heck of it.

Also...hope you don't think I've been avoiding you or your blog, I've been so busy that I cut my blog posts down to just two or three a week. I'm sure I'll lose the few readers I have left, but that's life in the blogosphere, I guess. Sigh.

What is wrong with a beautiful nude?
I found myself, uh, rising to make a comment.

I liked the painting and this one that you posted. You always choose great images!

You're sweet for caring Jo :) That was a nice sentiment in this sometimes unfriendly world of blogger!

I think its a beautiful painting, but then I am not offended by "skinny dipping" as I have partaken in that very act myself. You have the right to post whatever you wish on your blog. If some people do not like what you write, then they can stop reading your blog, which I guess was the case. Don't apologize for something you wrote!

Sometimes I notice that my followers drop by one. Or two. And right away I think I've done or said something to offend them.
But it could be something else. Maybe they've removed their profile and are not blogging anymore. I don't know. But I wouldn't let it bother me, if I were you!

You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself. I truly believe that. People come, and people go. I want to hear and see what Jo wants to share and that's why I come here. I've had lots of people remove themselves and I just keep on posting.

Gosh Jo, I thought nothing was wrong with your previous post or picture.
