Jaycee Dugard And Elizabeth Smart

Jaycee Dugard and Elizabeth Smart resemble each other enough to be sisters. How is it that these two lovely young women could have endured horrors beyond our imaginations, and still remain so fresh-faced and cheerful? I think hope must be very strong in the human heart. Every parent's worst nightmare is to have their child taken by a stranger and to have them suffer the indignities -- to say the least -- that Jaycee and Elizabeth suffered. The worst thing would be the not knowing, and there should be a special place in the Ninth Circle of the Inferno for the monsters who kidnap, molest and murder innocent children. It's wonderful that these girls were returned to their families.

Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never is, but always to be blessed.

Monsters like those who took the girls should not be afforded ANY rights. Coat them in honey and stick them in the middle of a bee farm.

Firefly, ooohhh, what a good idea! Throw in a few angry wasps, too. *heh*

My heart goes out to the pain that girl would have endured...

Hope they get over this..

and people who do such things should be confined .....

I have been encouraged to see that the human spirit does NOT have to bow down and suffer the rest of life after horrible torments , that we can rise above what 'monsters' do to us . That we do not have to give such abominations as these child predators and molesters the final word on the outcome of victimized children such as Jaycee and Elizabeth.

As I look at the pages of history I see many, many generations have come and gone, generations that had no regard for childhood and children subjected to adult horrors, and many can rise above the horrors if they are not convinced they cannot. I think both Elizabeth and Jaycee must also have amazing parents.

No more attention to the monsters, lock them up and really..throw away the keys!

Honey - yes but not bees - ants! I think the young ladies are beautiful and strong to be coping with what they went through. It just shows how the human spirit can prevail over adversity.

I am so happy that both of these young women survived their ordeals and seem to be thriving. Who knows what horror lives inside of them though? I only wish the outcome could have been the same for Tori Stafford who was kidnapped, murdered and God knows what else in this area 6 months ago. I still think of her all the time. I hope that the experiences of these girls will help to prevent some other little girls from suffering this type of horror.

Although I think of myself as a nice guy, I wouldn't be troubled by putting a bullet in the heads of the bastards who did these things to these girls. I wouldn't lose a moment of sleep.

These monsters don't deserve any compassion whatsoever.
I never noticed the resemblance, good job, Jo! You'd make a great detective.
Sorry I haven't commented in weeks...but I do read every day!

I think it would be appropriate fro the parents of the these young women to decide the punishment for these monsters......

I just heard a short clip on the news about them, and how they seem to be doing well in spite of the horrors they endured. Angels must have with them to come through it all and still muster up a smile.

I though it was just fantasy and horror when a Texas lady writer brought a story to me about
some monster keeping a woman in a pen.
Truth is stranger...

I hadn't heard about that until this post, thanks for letting me know. They're very strong girls.

Muthu, yes, they should be confined the way they confined their captives...!

Kathy, yes, children have suffered, and continue to suffer through wars, famines, but the spirit of hope remains. It's incredible.

Mark, I do agree with you, unfortunately.

Momcat, fire ants...! :-)

Avril, yes, I remember that beautiful little Tori Stafford. The people who did that were monsters!

Philip, ohmygoodness, what a wonderful punishment that would be. Of course, someone would complain that it is against their human rights. *sigh*

Charles, I think you would have to stand in line... *heh*

Deb, don't they look alike!? It's amazing!

Kathy, if I were the parents, oh, yes ... my goodness!

Brenda, yes, their angels were looking after them, absolutely!

The Mind Speaker, they could almost be twins!

Paula, yes, it's a horrible thought, isn't it?

Nancy, yes, goodness!

Ivan, it's right out of the "Silence of the Lambs". *Shudder*

CTVicky, yes, they must be made of steel.

I agree absolutely. I think both those young women demonstrate the kind of spirit we all have, albeit deeply buried in most of us who have never needed to be so strong.

From an early age I was opposed to the death penalty, but no longer feel that way. Pretty words like "murder doesn't justify murder" are not comforting when monsters are allowed to destroy children (or any other innocent beings) as those responsible here have done.

Hearts, I agree. What was done to these two girls should not happen to any human being, and there is no punishment severe enough for the monsters who did it.

Jo you are good, I never saw the resemblance either. I can't imagine the horrors they endured but it takes a special kind of person to survive that and come out smiling, they are both that special kind of person.

Last September,I suggested about 23 ways to execute Garrido. Only crucifixtion, and concentration camps are unacceptable.
