So, instead, I am going to throw an imaginary party. Just imagine, if you will, a beautiful big house with acres and acres of lawn, dotted with trees and there is even a splashing fountain, ringed with flowers. It's a warm summer evening and in the trees I have hung colored lanterns. Around the yard are tiki torches to give a shimmering light when the sun goes down. There is a full moon, and there will even be fireflies. Music will be playing, and there will be wonderful food and drink. You are all invited.
You can mix and mingle with each other, and exchange ideas and laugh and have fun, and tell jokes, and flirt and dance, and eat and drink and enjoy the party. Wouldn't that be fun?
Well, that's sort of what this post is about. You're all invited to meet each other here. I hope you click on my blog links and my followers, and make some wonderful friends. Tell them Jo sent you.
Here's some summer evening music by one of my favorite jazz musicians, Ahmad Jamal. Enjoy!

Thanks! I'd love to come!
Aww Jo, that's perfectly lovely! I come to your little garden party everyday, it's one of my favorite places to be. Coincidentally, I was just telling my daughter today how hard it must be to jump from a moderate number of followers to over 500. And yet, you've answered all my emails and been so wonderful to me. Thank you.
Love your blog and your style of self expression. I found you at The Pink Cowboy which is a recommendation in itself. My first visit here but I look forward to returning
Please stop by at Psyche Connections and be welcome to a Mint Julep....of whatever is your fancy.

Thanks for the warm welcome. You have a terrific writing style and I'm looking forward to settling in and checking out A Majority of Two in leisure.
Jo, I have a dentist appointment on that day and surely will return and sleep the day away while you all are having fun with Ahmad Jamal and the fireflies.I will be there in spirit, and hopefully a spirit that will knock me out for the night. Be a good girl.

Seeing as I am always classified as "that crazy uncle" which has to be invited to family affairs to avoid unseemly feelings, all I can say is; "Where's the bar again?"
Thanks for the invite - as the eccentric aunt I dug out my peacock feather fascinator and silk coat 'of many colours' . I might even dye my hair in your honour but aaahhh what colour to choose ? Femme fatale black , ditsy blonde or sexy redhead or even go all out and try green pink or blue , hmmmm choices , choices !!!!
Hey this party looks amazing and full with energic people!!! You're very creative Jo!
And my gift from Istanbul is a bouquet of daisy... I hope you like them!

Q: So what are you doing this weekend?
A: Oh, we're meeting over at Jo's place. Big party happening.
Whoo Hoo!
Is this going to be, uh, one of those parties that starts on Thursday afternoon and ends Sunday night or Monday morning - or Tuesday....?! Heh!
Reminds me of The Great Gatsby -- his parties seemed to be grand affairs with lots of people and music and dancing and ....
As the saying goes, I am sure you won't have to ask twice when you invite people to this one!
Is it ok if I don't dress all fancy for your party? All I have is this nun's habit. But I'll be happy to bring the wine. ;-)
I will be there! i love garden parties!
Sounds just lovely, Jo. Especially the warm weather part.
Such a nice post :) I had the joy of seeing "Luncheon of the Boating Party" in person....what an amazing painting. The colors and texture in the paint....so beautiful! It's a joy to visit your page every day. You never fail to fascinate me with your musing!
