"I've known Jo for almost 12 years, she has always been a great neighbor and a wonderful friend. When the council, in their stupidity, almost chopped the cherry trees down five years ago, Jo saved them. She has always been here to help folks when they need help. This is a not just a building, it is a community of people. We don't treat our neighbors like that, and we certainly don't treat our friends like that...!"
Omigosh...
Omigosh...!
Every once in a while, things sort of work out as they should, don't they?

Wow. What a great friend. It seems as though in standing up for your self, you have helped turn the tide.
Katy, yes, and I'm so glad my friend stood up for me too. It makes me feel good. :-)
If you made a good beginning with your work, the end might be not less happy. (Sofokles, 496-405 b.c.)
How Kind! I love when someone stands up for friends. It's even better getting that unexpected kind word!
Hooray!!! It's the kind of vindication that so many people dream about & seldom get.
So heartening to read this, after all that has happened with something so trivial as an ornamental bird house. Wonderful!
She is indeed a great neighbor and friend. She stood up for you. But from what I can remember, you did a marvelous job of standing up for yourself when you met the witch on the elevator. Amy (not her real name) is a very good friend.
Oh, it is nice when something like this happens!
While I admire "Amy" for standing up for you, her resignation will only mean one less voice of reason in the Council.
That's a good friend. I hope it makes them think about their actions!
She is a good friend! But then clearly, so are you. I'm glad she backed you up, and made her own stand.
Have you ever seen the movie The Winslow Boy? It's really quite good, in it Jeremy Northam's character plays a lawyer, defending a British schoolboy expelled for theft. One of the nice moments in the film is when he says with great conviction, "Let right be done!"
I'm glad right was done.
So nice to receive acknowledgment for the good things we do. Perfect title too, "all's well that ends." Love it, Jo :D
Have a Happy Day!
Thank goodness for good friends!
I think thatsome of the problems are that:
Much learning does not teach understanding.
All human beings are commingled out of good and evil.
Each person has its own way to deal with offenses. Sadly there is not such thing as the best niversal way to handle then.
But anyway we should be greatfull that there are persons like the one you mentioned here.
Take care

Amazing how good a friend can make you feel when they are being a real friend. Well done to her.
It is not the needed justice, removing the witch, but it certainly is a salve and balm for a wound undeserved.
That was lovely and am sure well deserved:)gga
The voice of reason always needs to be heard and we can only hope that the council will now stop and think before they act. Isn't it wonderful when someone cares about you and displays it so well?
Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments. I agree, there is one less voice of reason on the council. But, I'm glad I have a good friend who stood up for me. :-)
Have a great day, everyone!
A great friend indeed. She stood up to be counted and was not found wanting.
Three cheers for Amy-not-her-real-name. Hip hip, hooray! (x3)
Wow. That's a loyal friend! But now there is an open space on that board and who knows what kind of wicked witch will fill her spot.
I'm not sure what the problem was but it's nice to hear you put it in a positive light.
Indeed things do workout just the way they are supposed to! What a lovely neighbor and friend you have!
